Introspection 1: Fear

  • PC

I can write these lines in this poem
And give characters the most beautiful lyrics,
But I do not know what to say to you;
I don’t know how to break the ice,
End the silence, saying all I need to;
I can make my verses drip with disdain,
And sugar over in desire,
But I don’t know how to pursue my own,
How to demand what I want of you
And glow in my just desserts;
I can emote the strongest wind,
And the courage to withstand it all
But I am too scared of rejection,
Too fragile, and scared of loss;
But I would be writing the payaso
If I let my story end
Not ever having had the chance
To know your beginning.
