Mothers

It’s not often that we shed light on such an amazing person we trust
We weren’t just placed on this earth but were conceived and delivered
Whether through love, careful planning, desire, affection, or even lust Whatever the circumstances, the absence of a mother would leave anyone withered

This day is not just to honor the person that ushered us into this world,
We will look beyond the noun mother, but instead focus on motherhood
Being a mother doesn’t just star at birth but it’s only the beginning of a journey not yet unfurled
This day is to recognize the act of Motherhood which extends past deliverance into a world so often misunderstood.

We are recognizing the mothers that
Take care of us when we’re sick
Take us to school everyday
Feed and nurture us
Giving us words of encouragement when we’re feeling down Showing us that softer side we need in life
Even spoiling us from time to time with small treats
Showing us right from wrong,
And teaching us the value of hard work and dedication

I cannot speak about what it takes to be a perfect mother
Instead I have only shared some experiences I have had with my mother, a woman whom I love dearly.
I would like to say Happy Mother’s day to all mothers including my own mother
Don’t let the day pass without expressing your love and appreciation to every mother sincerely
